Governor's Project This
year, the Texas-Oklahoma District Governor's Project will
be helping local humane societies and local ASPCA (American Society
for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) chapters. These
local safe havens for animals are always in need of supplies to
fulfill the influx of animals that go through their doors every
year. I want it to be division’s 9E Goal this year for every
club to do the governor’s project to some extent! Each
shelter will have various After
your club has delivered the supplies to your local animal shelter or
ASPCA chapter, you must then make a presentation (speech, skit, song,
game, etc.) to one local elementary, K-Kids, or day care on proper
care maintenance for household pets. Essentials in the presentation
require proper feeding, exercise, current vaccines, and hygiene (baths,
flea and tick protection, etc.). Many children beg their parents
for pets and do not realize the responsibility it entails.
